Wakako is a registered architect, a member of the American Institute of Architects, and a LEED Accredited Professional, with over 20 years of experience in executing international award winning projects. With commitment to making positive and lasting changes in people's lives, Wakako offers authentic design solutions free of conventional assumptions in response to each client's unique needs and values.  She is also a part of Helicon Works - a design collaborative that focuses on ecologically sensitive architecture and building practices in the DC Metropolitan area.

Prior to founding wakako tokunaga architecture in 2007, Wakako worked as a project architect at Suzane Reatig Architecture, Shigeru Ban Architects, and as an Associate at RTKL Associates, Inc.
